Seaside trade with a working town behind it
Most people picture Whitstable as oysters, the harbour and Harbour Street on a sunny Saturday. That is part of it. But behind the seafront there is a proper working town, with business estates off Millstrood Road and the Thanet Way, including the Joseph Wilson Industrial Estate and the John Wilson Business Park, plus surgeries, schools, offices and a busy High Street. Both sides of Whitstable need cleaning, and they need it at very different times.
Two very different kinds of business
Harbour and High Street
Restaurants, cafes, pubs and independent shops packed with visitors in season. They need floors, toilets and front of house reset before opening, every day of a busy week.
The business estates
Industrial units, workshops and offices that run on normal working hours, where welfare areas, kitchens and toilets need regular attention.
Health and care
Surgeries, dentists and clinics serving the town, where we use bactericides that kill MRSA and follow a written schedule for clinical areas.
Schools and nurseries
Every school cleaner we send has an enhanced DBS check and is our own employee, cleaning after the day ends or before it begins.
Busy summers, quieter winters
Seaside businesses change through the year. A restaurant on the harbour might want more hours in July than in January. Because every contract we run is built on a written cleaning schedule, we can agree with you how the work fits your trading pattern, and adjust it as your business changes. You always know what is being cleaned and when.
Food businesses should look at our restaurant cleaning and pub cleaning pages for more on what we cover.
What every Whitstable customer gets
- Our own employed cleaners, never agency staff or subcontractors
- Vetted by us, trained in house and in uniform
- A confidentiality agreement signed by every cleaner
- Cover for sickness and holidays arranged by us
- Regular supervisor inspections and a comments book on site
- Fully insured, with a risk assessment in line with HSE guidance
- Early morning, evening and weekend cleans
Salt, sand and glass
Sea air leaves a film on windows and shop fronts, and sand finds its way into every doorway on the seafront. Regular contract customers can add window cleaning to their arrangement, so the glass gets the same attention as the floors inside.
Covering the north Kent coast
We are a family run business based at the Innovation Centre in Chatham. Whitstable is part of the area we cover with neighbouring Herne Bay and Canterbury, and our managers still do hands on cleaning themselves.
Whitstable questions
Can you clean our restaurant before the lunchtime rush?
Yes. We clean early in the morning so you open to a clean dining room, kitchen floor and toilets.
We are a small unit on an industrial estate. Is that worth your while?
Absolutely. Contracts start from four hours a week, and small units get the same supervision as anywhere else.
What happens if we are not happy with a clean?
Write it in the comments book or tell us, and we put it right. Our supervisors check regularly so problems do not build up.
