A city that never really closes
Canterbury is a cathedral city, a university city and a shopping destination all at once. Visitors fill the streets from morning to evening, students keep the city busy most of the year, and the businesses that serve them need premises that look their best every single day. A shop on the High Street or St George's Street, an office near the Dane John Gardens, a practice on the ring road or a unit on the Wincheap industrial estate all face the same problem: when do you clean a building that is always busy?
The answer is early in the morning, in the evening and at weekends. That is when we work.
Canterbury premises we clean
- City centre shops and retail units around Whitefriars
- Offices and professional practices
- Restaurants, cafes and food outlets
- Hotels and guest accommodation
- Dentists, opticians and surgeries
- Industrial units and trade counters at Wincheap and on the edges of the city
- Churches, halls and community buildings
Tourist trade means footfall, and footfall means dirt
A shop doorway in Canterbury sees more feet in a Saturday than many towns see in a week. Entrance mats, glass doors, fitting rooms and staff toilets take a hammering. Restaurants turn tables all day and need kitchens, floors and toilets reset before the next service. We build all of that into a written cleaning schedule for your building, and we time visits so you open each day to a clean shop floor.
What makes us different
We employ our cleaners
No agency staff and no subcontractors. The people in your building are vetted by us, trained in house, in uniform and signed up to a confidentiality agreement.
We check our own work
Supervisors inspect regularly, and a comments book on site lets your staff raise anything straight away.
We cover absences
Sickness and holidays are our problem, not yours. Cover is arranged by us.
We start properly
A supervisor is on site for the first clean, after a risk assessment in line with HSE guidance.
From Chatham to the cathedral city
We are a family run business based at the Innovation Centre in Chatham, and our managers still do hands on cleaning. Canterbury is part of the area we cover across east Kent, along with Whitstable and Herne Bay on the coast.
Canterbury FAQs
Can you clean before we open to the public?
Yes. Early morning cleans are exactly how most city centre businesses keep their premises fresh without disturbing customers.
We have a shop in Canterbury and another in Whitstable. Can you cover both?
Yes. Each gets its own schedule under one arrangement. Have a look at our Whitstable page too.
Do you clean windows?
We offer window cleaning to our regular contract customers, so your shop front can be part of the same arrangement.
What is the smallest contract you take?
Four hours a week. That suits many small Canterbury shops, offices and practices.
