Commercial contract cleaning across Kent and Medway

Commercial cleaning service

Schools

Regular contract cleaning for schools, carried out by our own employed cleaning teams across Kent and Medway.

Safeguarding starts with who you let in

A school has a duty to know exactly who is on site, and that includes the cleaning team. Every one of our school cleaners has an enhanced DBS check as standard. They are our own employees, vetted by us, trained in house and in uniform, so your office always knows who is in the building and who they work for. We never send agency staff into a school.

A building that takes a battering every day

Hundreds of children through the same corridors, dining hall and toilets every day leave their mark. Muddy floors after wet playtimes, chewing gum under tables and toilets that need far more than a quick wipe. School cleaning is about keeping on top of that every single day, not catching up once a week.

  • Classrooms, tables, chairs and whiteboards
  • Corridors, stairs and entrance areas
  • School hall and dining hall
  • Pupil and staff toilets
  • Staff room, offices and reception
  • Changing rooms
  • Hard floor maintenance
  • Litter picking, graffiti and chewing gum removal

Term time and the holidays

During term we clean after the school day or early in the morning, so classrooms are ready before the first child arrives. The holidays are when the real work gets done. We work closely with your caretaker or site manager, cleaning around holiday building work and getting the school back in shape before term starts. If you have an Ofsted inspection coming up, we can plan extra work in ahead of it.

Taking over an in house cleaning team

Many schools come to us with cleaners already on their payroll. Moving them across is covered by TUPE (Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment)) regulations, and we have experience of doing exactly that. Your existing cleaners keep their jobs, and you stop having to manage them, cover their holidays and replace them when they leave. See our FAQs for how we handle TUPE.

Why school cleaning goes wrong

The caretaker ends up doing it

When cleaners do not turn up, the gaps land on your site staff. We cover sickness and holidays ourselves.

Nobody checks the toilets

Our supervisors inspect regularly, and there is a comments book on site so staff can flag anything straight away.

Unclear who is on site

Enhanced DBS checks, uniforms and our own employed staff. No surprises at the school gate.

No plan, just a mop

Every school gets a written cleaning schedule, and a supervisor is on site for the first clean to set the standard.

Questions school business managers ask

Are all your school cleaners DBS checked?

Yes. Every cleaner who works in a school has an enhanced DBS check before they start.

Can you work around our site manager?

Yes. We agree the schedule with your site team and fit around lettings, building work and events rather than the other way round.

Do you clean windows?

Window cleaning is available to all our regular contract customers.

Are you insured?

We are fully insured and carry out a risk assessment for your school in line with HSE guidance before we start.
