Commercial contract cleaning across Kent and Medway

Commercial cleaning service

Care Homes

Regular contract cleaning for care homes, carried out by our own employed cleaning teams across Kent and Medway.

This is somebody's home

A care home is a workplace, a clinical setting and a family home all at once. Residents live there every hour of every day. Their relatives visit and quietly judge everything they see. Inspectors walk the corridors looking for the same things. A smell in a corridor or a grubby handrail does more damage to a family's trust than any brochure can repair. Cleaning here has to be thorough, consistent and done with real respect for the people who live in the building.

Keeping infection out

Older residents are more vulnerable to infection, and germs travel through a care home on hands, handrails and shared surfaces. Our cleaners pay close attention to the places people touch most and the rooms where infection spreads fastest.

  • Handrails, door handles, light switches and call points
  • Communal toilets, bathrooms and shower rooms
  • Lounges, dining rooms and activity rooms
  • Corridors, stairs and lifts
  • Reception and visitor areas
  • Staff rooms, offices and nurses' stations

We use bactericides that kill MRSA, and every area of your home is set out in a written cleaning schedule so nothing depends on a cleaner remembering.

Quiet, calm and familiar faces

Residents do not want a stream of strangers coming through their home. Our cleaners are our own employees, not agency staff, so the same people come back week after week and residents get to know them. They are vetted by us, trained in house and in uniform, and every one signs a confidentiality agreement, because a care home is full of private conversations and personal information. They work quietly, with respect for residents' routines, and fit around mealtimes, medication rounds and visiting.

Before we start, we carry out a risk assessment for your home in line with HSE guidance. Wet floors in a building full of people who are unsteady on their feet need managing properly, every single visit.

Why care home cleaning lets people down

Gaps in the rota

A care home cannot go without cleaning because someone is ill. We cover sickness and holidays with our own trained staff.

Care staff pulled onto cleaning

Every hour a carer spends mopping is an hour away from residents. A reliable contract takes that pressure off your team.

Standards drift unnoticed

Our supervisors carry out regular inspections, and our managers still do hands on cleaning, so they spot slippage early.

No record of concerns

A comments book on site lets your senior staff raise anything, and it gets dealt with.

Bringing cleaning in house to us

Many homes employ their own domestic staff and find the sickness cover, training and supervision eat up a manager's week. If you want to move that work to a contractor, we have experience of TUPE transfers and will handle the move carefully, with respect for the people already doing the job.

Run a day service or clinic alongside your home? See our doctors surgery cleaning page, and our washroom cleaning page for how we handle heavily used toilets.

What care home managers want to know

Are your cleaners DBS checked?

Every cleaner is vetted by us before they start. Tell us what your home requires and we will make sure the staff we place with you meet it.

Do you clean residents' private rooms?

We clean the areas set out in your written schedule. If you want residents' rooms included, we agree with you how and when they are done so residents are comfortable with it.

Can you clean seven days a week?

Yes. We clean early mornings, evenings and weekends, so we can match the way your home actually runs.

What happens on the first day?

A supervisor is on site for the first clean to walk through the schedule with your cleaner and your senior staff.
